Summary of profile:

My career as an engineer began in 1980. Starting out as a draftsman, where I learned the importance of excellence in technical knowledge and detail, I then moved up the ranks into Civil Engineering before finding my niche in Building Services Engineering.

With over 40 years’ experience in industry, my expertise and knowledge spans many sectors with a focus on residential, commercial, hotels and student accommodation. My experience of working with architects and designers has enabled me to add an element of creative flair in all that I do – from sketch proposals to marketing our practice!

Creativity has always driven my passion for engineering. Being able to create buildings where people live, work and relax – leaving my mark on the planet and doing my bit to drive sustainability throughout the practice. It has also been rewarding to see some of the projects I have worked on to achieve award winning status!

In my senior role, I provide leadership as well as technical support and inspiration so the company can continue to excel and flourish.

Outside of engineering

My passion outside of work is cycling. I’m an active member of a few clubs and have participated in many charity cycles over the years, including the BCO Cycle challenge from Gothenburg, Sweden to Copenhagen, Denmark.

Key projects

• Premier House & Alconbury Club building: I led both of these and they went on to win awards from BCO and CIBSE.
• Clerkenwell Workshops: The first project we ever worked on as a company.
