Hampton by Hilton Waterloo Achieves BREEAM Excellent Rating!
We’re delighted to share a major sustainability milestone for the Hampton by Hilton project. The extension works have officially achieved a BREEAM Excellent rating. This is a significant accomplishment and a testament to the project team’s commitment to environmental responsibility, energy efficiency, and high-performance building engineering.
Project Overview
The development involved a carefully integrated extension to an existing 4-star hotel, creating:
Building Services Design
We designed and coordinated all mechanical, electrical, and public health systems required to support the new bedrooms, ensuring they operate efficiently while integrating smoothly with the existing hotel infrastructure.
Extension of Existing Services
We assessed, upgraded, and extended existing building services—including heating, cooling, ventilation, power, and water systems—to accommodate the additional guestrooms with minimal disruption to ongoing hotel operations.
Energy Statement
FLATT prepared a comprehensive Energy Statement demonstrating how the project meets and exceeds regulatory requirements, with optimised energy performance strategies that support BREEAM targets.
BREEAM Assessment
Our accredited BREEAM team guided the design and construction stages, identifying achievable credits, advising on sustainability measures, and managing the process to secure the BREEAM Excellent certification.
Utilities Assessments
We carried out utilities capacity checks, coordinated with local providers, and ensured the necessary upgrades were in place to serve the expanded hotel efficiently and reliably.
