Summary of profile:

Starting out with a well-known utility provider didn’t just introduce me to electrical engineering which I studied for over four years in my early career but also that beyond which we tend to use in our everyday working life.

The utility industry led me to work for a Contractor where tendering, procurement and design and build based projects were very much applicable leading me to use lighting design and cable calculation software packages where I tended to enjoy the problem solving process and positive outcomes this would lead to which naturally led to me joining an industry leading building services consultancy in my mid-twenties.

With a period of time working for a surveying practice leading pre-acquisition, technical due-diligence, condition / dilapidation surveys etc. this has enabled me to offer a wide and diverse skill set with a commercial approach in mind in order to bring best value.

Having previously started a London based team and growing this from just myself to twelve staff in less than two years, it was clear that the workload, approach and deliverables were of a standard not often matched allowing repeat work and Client relationships to be both formed and maintained.

In my current Director role, I have a responsibility for Client care to ensure we provide best value and commercial advice with a view to making every best effort to ensure the project is delivered either on as near to its agreed completion date and as near to or on budget. Applying a ‘real life’ approach and being ‘honest’ I have learnt is key so we can make informed decisions and get the best out of any given situation.

As a Chartered Engineer with over 30 years industry experience having delivered both refurbishment and new-build projects up to the value of £750M from pre-planning through to completion across multiple sectors I am now able to support our team members at all levels.

Outside of engineering:

Long distance triathlon and cycling is my passion having completed three full distance Ironman events across Europe.

A much loved dog walk and weekend’s away in our Motorhome are always very much enjoyed.

Key Projects:

• Victoria Square, Woking. Delivered over 400 new build residential units, a new build 189 Bed hotel, shopping mall extension and all associated infrastructure via a district heat network.
• Refurbishment of Brighton Metropole Hotel Brighton and Hilton Park Lane, London.
• Battersea Power Station Phase 2 – Delivery 250 high end residential units.
• Various Cat B office / retail fit-outs across London where the list continues to grow.
