Leadership Team

I have cared about the environment for as long as I can remember, and take very seriously the responsibility we, as engineers, carry to make a real difference in the world.

Summary of profile:

With over three decades of experience in the construction industry, my journey spans building services consultancy, construction, and asset ownership.

Grounded in a family legacy rooted in engineering, my expertise centres on building services, particularly mechanical engineering. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of contributing to remarkable projects that demanded an unparalleled level of detail and precision. These have ranged from small to large-scale developments in residential, commercial, research, education, healthcare, leisure, retail, and even zoological sectors; a strong selection that I am proud to have worked on.

This wealth of experience has become the bedrock of my current approach, I feel like I was born into this industry and it’s likely I’ll be involved in some way forever.

Prior to joining Flatt’s, I was specialising in district heating systems, in both an ownership and development role and in a strategic advisory position.

Beyond the technical aspects, my leadership philosophy revolves around setting an example and creating an environment where individuals can thrive and realise their full potential. It’s important to recognise the strengths in others, and it’s wonderful to witness those I’ve guided and supported achieving remarkable milestones in our industry.

Outside of engineering

I am a family man first and foremost which keeps me very busy. When time allows, you might find me on the golf course or at the side of a rugby pitch. I’m lucky to have both local friends and those I have come to know during my time in the industry, the biggest challenge is staying in touch, something I am always trying to improve on.
